"Community in Bloom" is mural inspired by Chelsea's diverse neighborhood, weaving a connection to nature while carrying forward traditions and cultures. We sow seeds of love and wisdom, nurturing younger generations to honor their roots while embracing the vibrant communities they inhabit. Encouraging an appreciation for both one’s origins and the present communities

Each mural subject symbolizes a piece of culture within Chelsea . References to nature from various countries - from the South American prickly pear to the lily representing Vietnam and Bangladesh. The yucca tree embodies El Salvador and the African American community, while the dahlia is Mexico's national flower. Mangoes and guavas nod to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, and the flower of the Incas represents Peru. The dragon fruit signifies China, and the vibrant Macaw, originating from Honduras, adds a burst of color. While the seagull, shells and pearls symbolize the new home in Atlantic City.

Amidst this kaleidoscope, a woman and child symbolize the diverse age groups and the traditions passed down through generations. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall's profound words, “In recognizing the humanity of our fellow beings, we pay ourselves the highest tribute”, resonate perfectly with the mural's theme of community and compassion.
